Masjid al-Ji’ranah Miqat Taxi from Makkah
Masjid al-Ji’ranah is a miqat northeast of Makkah where the Prophet ﷺ entered ihram for Umrah after the Battle of Hunayn. Pilgrims staying in Makkah go there to put on ihram for an extra Umrah.
A private return taxi from a Makkah hotel to Masjid al-Ji’ranah costs from SAR 140 per car (Sedan). The mosque is about 25 to 30 km from the Haram, so the round trip with time for ihram and prayer takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The driver waits while you change and pray.

About Masjid al-Ji’ranah
Al-Ji’ranah lies outside the Haram boundary. After the Battle of Hunayn the Prophet ﷺ stayed here and then entered ihram for Umrah. Today the mosque has washrooms and places to change, so it is a convenient miqat for people already in Makkah. Read the full Masjid al-Ji’ranah guide.
How the trip works

Ji’ranah or Masjid Aisha?
Masjid Aisha (Tan’eem) is the closest miqat to the Haram and the most popular. Our Masjid Aisha return trip costs from SAR 120. Ji’ranah is further and quieter, and many people choose it to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet’s ﷺ Umrah from there. You can also add Ji’ranah to a Makkah Ziyarat tour (from SAR 250).
