Taif Guide for Umrah Pilgrims
Taif is a cool mountain city about 90 km from Makkah. Pilgrims visit it for its history, its fruit and rose farms, and its miqat. You can also fly into Taif Airport and drive down to Makkah.

The road from Makkah to Taif
The Al Hada road climbs the Sarawat mountains with many bends and wide views. It is beautiful but slow. In the rain or fog it can close; then drivers use the longer road through As-Sayl al-Kabir. Tell us if anyone in your group gets motion sickness, and we will drive gently and stop when needed.
Miqat Qarn al-Manazil
If you come from Taif and intend Umrah, you must enter ihram at the miqat Qarn al-Manazil. There are two mosques for it: Masjid As-Sayl al-Kabir and Masjid Wadi Mahram on the Al Hada road. Both have washrooms for wudu and changing. See our Miqat points guide.
